Cavitation of centrifugal pump
A.
The cavitation phenomenon of centrifugal pump refers to the partial vaporization of the transported liquid because the saturated vapor pressure at the conveying temperature is equal to or lower than the pressure at the pump inlet F, which is actually the blade inlet.
Cause pump noise and vibration is serious.
Significant decrease in pump flow, pressure head and efficiency.

Obviously cavitation phenomenon is not allowed to occur in the normal operation of centrifugal pump.

The key to avoid cavitation is to correct the installation height of the pump, especially when the delivery temperature is higher volatile liquid, more attention should be paid.

Cavitation: Bubbling occurs when the pressure of a liquid is lowered at a certain temperature to the vaporization pressure at that temperature.
This phenomenon of bubble formation is called cavitation.

Cavitation collapse: cavitation produced by the bubble flow to the high pressure when the volume of its collapse.
This phenomenon of bubbles disappearing into the liquid as a result of rising pressure is called cavitation collapse.

In the operation of the self-priming oil pump, if the local area of the flow part (usually a place later on the impeller blade inlet) for some reason, the absolute pressure of the pumping liquid is reduced to the liquid vaporization pressure at the temperature at that time, when the liquid begins to vaporize to produce a large number of steam to form bubbles.

When the liquid containing a large number of bubbles forward through the high pressure area in the impeller, the high pressure liquid around the bubble causes the bubble to rapidly shrink and rupture.
